The Port St. Lucie Concert Band is dedicated to providing live musical entertainment for residents of the vibrant city of Port St. Lucie, Florida and surrounding Treasure Coast communities, as well as to offering a challenging and rewarding musical experience for Band members.
About the Band
The Band was founded in 1989 by several local musicians, with the encouragement of city officials and support from local businesses. By the mid-90s, the Band had grown to more than 40 players, holding rehearsals at Port St. Lucie High School.
Today, the band is comprised of approximately 80 amateur and professional musicians in season, with a somewhat smaller roster during the summer months. Members include doctors and attorneys, teachers, business people, and outstanding local student instrumentalists.
Our membership also includes active retirees who hail from all over the United States, some of whom are former full-time professional musicians who played with America’s finest bands and orchestras.

Our concerts and performances
Now an important part of the community, the Band rehearses and performs several major concerts every year at the new Port St. Lucie Civic Center, a showcase city recreational and entertainment facility opened in late 2008.

We also serve the public by providing music for annual civic functions such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, as well as other events such as holiday tree lightings, groundbreaking ceremonies, and the like.
Support for the Band
The Band is supported by grants from the City of Port St. Lucie, private donations, shares of ticket sale proceeds, and performance fees. The Band is a qualified 501c3 non-profit organization, and donations to support the band are fully tax deductible.
